Restaurant and service
These terms describe El Molcajete’s online pickup ordering, customer accounts, Rewards program and native gift cards at elmolcajeteonline.com. Placing and collecting an order
Review your items, options, quantities, pickup details and final total before confirming payment. Availability and opening hours shown in the app control online ordering. Preparation estimates are estimates, not guaranteed pickup times. Tell the restaurant about allergy concerns before ordering; an online customization note is not a guarantee that an allergen can be excluded.
Online orders require confirmed payment, including eligible wallet value, before being recorded as paid. A pending bank authorization or interrupted checkout alone is not proof of a confirmed order. If confirmation is uncertain, use the app’s payment recovery or contact us with your order reference instead of paying again. The restaurant’s staff POS can use a different order-first workflow.
Prices, tax, fees and tips
The review screen shows food and addons, discounts, applicable tax, the service fee, any optional tip, gift card value applied and the amount due by card. In the order summary, “Taxes & fees” groups taxes and the service fee into one line. Select its information button to view each amount separately before paying. Gift card value is a payment method, not a discount. Tips are optional and separate from the service fee.
This service fee helps support our online ordering platform and order management. It is not a tip.
The current checkout calculates a separately disclosed 5.5% fee on the portion of food and addons paid by card after eligible discounts and gift card allocation, with amounts rounded to cents. That food-order fee is not calculated on sales tax, tip or food fully paid with gift card value. It is not a tip and is not represented as Stripe’s own exact processing rate. The final fee and amount due are shown before payment.
Purchasing or reloading $25 of native gift card value currently costs $26.38: $25 of stored value plus a separately disclosed $1.38 fee. Food sales tax is calculated when food is purchased, not added to that purchase of stored value.
Fees remain subject to applicable law and payment-network requirements; this description does not waive those protections. Contact the restaurant before paying if you have questions about a charge. Any approved refund is described in the Refund and Returns Policy, without a blanket exclusion for fees.
Accounts and Rewards
Keep your account credentials private and provide accurate contact details. Eligible food purchases earn one point per dollar under the program’s calculation and rounding rules; food paid with eligible gift card value also earns points. Purchasing or reloading gift card value does not earn food-purchase points. Discounts, cancellations and refunds can affect the eligible food amount and associated points.
The app displays current checkpoints and the products the restaurant has made available. Having points does not guarantee stock of a particular product. One reward or one coupon can apply to an order, and either may be combined with eligible gift card payment; a reward and coupon cannot be combined with each other. Points are promotional rewards, not gift card money or cash.
A birthday product, when enabled and selected by the restaurant, follows the eligibility shown in the account and is limited to the program’s annual claim. It covers the eligible base product, not automatically every extra. We do not promise an unconfigured product or a benefit not shown as available.
Native gift cards
Paid gift card value is issued or reloaded only after payment is verified. Email delivery depends on the recipient address and email provider and is not guaranteed to be instant. Keep your receipt and protect your code. The checkout shows the value applied and any amount still due. Applicable tax is calculated when food is purchased.
Older gift cards issued through the previous system have not yet been migrated automatically. If a previous code is not accepted by the native checkout, contact the restaurant for assistance; this update does not cancel an existing balance or change its original terms. No new expiration date, inactivity fee or forfeiture is imposed by these terms. Statutory gift card rights remain unaffected.
Cancellations, refunds and support
See the Refund and Returns Policy. Contact the restaurant promptly for cancellation, incorrect items, quality issues, duplicate charges or gift card problems. Any approved refund is recorded against the original transaction and the applicable original payment method. A mixed payment is not automatically refunded entirely to card. Required consumer remedies remain available.
Privacy and notifications
The Privacy Policy explains account, order, payment-reference and device processing. Browser push requires permission and preferences; installation alone does not consent to marketing. Order tracking in the account remains the reference if an email or push is delayed or not delivered.
